Holiday Tours at Historic Pennypacker Mills

If it’s Christmastime, the Place to be is Pennypacker Mills

Schwenksville, PA – One of Montgomery County’s best destinations for Christmas decorations and holiday traditions is historic Pennypacker Mills. Set on 170 acres of bucolic farmland, the Pennypacker mansion is resplendent in early 1900’s holiday style.  Delight in the holiday traditions of the Pennypacker family, find inspiration for decorating your own home, and marvel at the stunning decorations throughout the two floors of the mansion. Beginning Tuesday, November 24 through Sunday, January 10, 2021, free tours of the Pennypacker mansion are available.

No groups will be added on to your guided tour. Additionally, only pre-registered household contact groups of 10 people maximum will be admitted on a tour. Masks are required and please social distance. To schedule a tour, call or email us: 610-287-9349 or PennypackerMills@montcopa.org.

Pennsylvania Governor Samuel Pennypacker and his family resided in this mansion from 1900 to 1916. Inside, see glimpses of the history of the early 1900’s and how the family celebrated Christmas. Using shiny glass and metallic ornaments, strands of glass beads to add shimmer to the tree, and the stories of how the Christmas we celebrate today all began, a tour of the Pennypacker mansion is a must for those looking to be inspired this holiday season.

The Museum Shop is stocked with vintage inspired ornaments, gift items, sweets, and cards. Plan to browse the shop during your tour. Cash, check or credit cards accepted.

Tours take approximately 1 hour. Hours are Tuesday thru Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm; Sunday, 1 to 4 pm. The site is closed Mondays, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Day and New Year’s Eve & Day. Donations are gratefully accepted. For more information, please visit our website: https://www.montcopa.org/pennypackermills or visit our Facebook page: FACEBOOK/PennypackerMills.
