Quintessence Theatre Camp 2023

Quintessence Theatre Camp is part of our mission to develop the next generation of classical theatre lovers. Using theatre games and exploratory exercises to develop an original adaptation of a classical piece of literature, each week ends with a performance. Our focus on the collaborative process allows participants to build confidence, develop character, and experience the theatrical process first-hand.

Margery Williams’ The Velveteen Rabbit
JUNE 20-23 (T-F) | AGES 7-11 — 9AM-3PM
Younger students will create an original adaptation of Margery Williams’ The Velveteen Rabbit. The performance will focus on ensemble, creating original characters, and movement. The perfect chance for younger students interested in acting, dance, and collaborative storytelling.
William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar
JUNE 26-30 (M-F) | AGES 12-17 — 9AM-3PM
Older students will stage a 45-minute adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar in less than a week. Rehearsals will include additional training in speaking verse, playing more than one character, and stage combat. Both an excellent introduction to Shakespearean acting as well as a chance for experienced performers to learn some valuable skills.
