Virtual Camps from Guidepost Montessori
Guidepost Montessori is offering half-day virtual summer camp experiences for Elementary age students 6-12 all summer long, with different themes each week. With Guidepost Virtual Summer Camp, your child will have the chance to grow skills in science, art, and creative thinking, with daily live programming guided by our team. Families will need to source some general household products and supplies; we will share a materials list in advance.
Available in two time zones: 9:00-12:00pm EST / 9:30-12:30pm PST. COST: $150/week

HMNS Summer Virtual Camps are summer camps that have been specifically designed for a virtual format. Virtual camps provide around one hour of educational engagement for your child every day for one week, live interaction with one our skilled educators, self-guided learning opportunities for kids (though parents are always welcome to participate) and individual supply boxes for camp specific supplies. An HMNS Educator will be on a virtual call with the camp to interact with campers, lead them in activities and answer questions. We will also have a moderator for each camp managing the logistics of the camps and offering tech support if needed. |

Students will have fun engaging their artistic side in our Digital Art camp! Create and edit images, shapes, and text, and learn how to make photo collages, use selection tools, filters, digital brushes and more! This is an introduction to photo editors and visual communication, solving visual problems with digital solutions. Add to your portfolio every day to show friends and family.
Throughout the course, students will establish proficiency with the photo editor interface and tools, and will gain an understanding of file formats, color management, image resolution, and pixel depth for differing output needs. They will learn about texturing, compositing, and various effects that can be applied when creating and manipulating images.
Kids and teens will be grouped by age and level. Maximum number of students will be 4 in a virtual setting. |

Typical Day
In addition to hands-on building in the morning and afternoon, campers will play interactive games led by our instructors and on-line boardgames to develop individual friendships, engage in group discussions, and participate in plenty of movement activities and games.
Our goal is for parents not to be involved with their children's camp day. However, depending on a child's level of independence and fluency with technology, they may need additional guidance or redirection that we are not able to provide virtually.

Campers will be with a live instructor throughout their day. Instruction and activities will be adapted to each camper and each group, just as they would be at our in-person camps.

Through our workshop process, become sensitive and responsive to specific yet constructive commentary. Attendance is mandatory for students wishing to earn credit for this course.
