Join the African American Museum in Philadelphia this February as we explore the profound legacy of Black labor and its enduring impact on history, culture, and progress. The 2025 theme, African Americans and Labor, delves into the vital contributions of Black people across the spectrum of work, skilled and unskilled, free and unfree, voluntary and vocational. From the agricultural expertise of enslaved Africans to the entrepreneurship and organized labor movements that transformed economies and communities, Black labor has been a cornerstone of resilience, innovation, and justice across the U.S., Africa, and the Diaspora. Celebrate this history with us and discover how work continues to shape and empower Black futures.
