Archaeology Festival at Newlin Grist Mill

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 09/14/2019
Join us for a day of archaeology fun and discover the rich archaeological heritage that lies beneath our feet! This year’s festival highlights the industrial legacy of the area, to coordinate with Delaware County’s “Year of Mills 2019.”

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

This festival features a full day of hands-on activities. Visitors will be able to work with professional archaeologists and assist with three different excavations; sift, clean and process artifacts; and see artifact displays from around Delaware County. There will also be a variety of activities designed for kids. We look forward to having you join us and discover how archaeology is done and what we can learn from it! All ages.

Activities include:
• Assist archaeologists with excavations
• Clean artifacts in the lab
• Remotely-operated vehicle demonstrations
• “Kids' Dig” and Pottery Assembly
• Archaeology displays & exhibits
• Food trucks: Tyler Water Ice and Delicious Craving

This annual event is held in partnership with the Delaware County Planning Department.

Free admission!
