Welcome to Wakanda: This one-week camp is for fans of the Black Panther Marvel comic book series or the movies. Each day will feature a different tribe of Wakanda and relate it to real-life tribes in the African continent and a new African word of the day, Other activities will include Afrocentric arts and crafts, drumming, archery, comic book creation, adventures in the woods and fields and watercourse, and contests based on agility, skill, speed, and strength. For ages 8-12.
Farming & Fun: Over two weeks, learn about farming, soil health, composting, nutrition, and cooking with fresh produce and herbs in this interactive camp featuring gardens, crops, goats, chickens, and bees. Plant vegetables, dry herbs for teas, make salves, learn about honey extraction, and make pickles. Be ready to get dirty and to try new foods! For ages 8-12.
Young Urban Farmers: For two weeks, delve deep into the science of soil health, compost, nutrition, and the joys and frustrations of urban farming. Learn about regenerative agriculture, biosequestration, and why organic is good for both people and the land. Learn about the care, feeding, and health of farm animals such as goats and chickens. Make gourmet meals from farm-fresh ingredients. For ages 10-14
