With a rich tradition from 2002, this program, commences right after the July 4 holiday and provides meaningful experiences that children have cherished for years. Over the first two weeks, children will work on special projects at the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center with professional artists, exploring visual arts, theatre, and film/photography. In addition to artmaking, there will be swimming, and other recreational activities.
Weeks three and four will occur at St. Joe’s Maguire Museum (formerly the Barnes Foundation) at 50 Lapsley Lane. The museum is about sharing and celebrating the power of art and education with the community in their fifteen galleries. The grounds are a hidden treasure filled with magnificent specimens of rare trees, plant collections, and breathtaking blooms. The beautiful gardens and park-like spaces provide another beautiful environment for the children.
