Social distancing at camp can be hard. Especially if you’re unsure whether you’ll be working from home or looking for childcare. Online camp with Camp by Rae can help with your planning process.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

  1. Low commitment. Whether your kid camps for 1 week or 1 day, you’ll take comfort knowing that they are engaged and socializing.
  2. Travel friendly. Need to bring your kid to work? Grab the tablet and both kiddo and camp are ready to roll.
  3. Less scheduling. Are you starting to feel like your child’s personal assistant? Enjoy fewer emails and logins while trusting that your kids calendar is complete.

Ages 7-12


Monday

1:30pm EST/ 11:30am PST- Classic Games Club

In this 55 minute interactive class, campers will play classic games including: scavenger hunt, charades, and Mother May I. This class is designed to support social interaction and is loaded full of fun.

2:30pm EST/ 12:30pm PST- Art Club

Using materials either available in the home or that have been previously sent to families campers will complete an art project which may include painting, coloring, or collages.  As part o our healthy vision initiative students will be encoraged to focus on their art or socialize wit peers online without looking at their screen. The teacher will be online available to answer any questions students may have while working on their art project; however, this is an opportunity for kids to take a break from staring at a screen, while still encouraging social interaction. This age group will be able to use breakout rooms to hold conversations with peers.

3:30pm EST- Create Your Own Dance

Let’s dance! In this class kids will play dance games, while building dance technique, and learning to create their own routines. No dance experience required. This class is design to improve rhythm, musicality, and support creative thinking. We’ll apply different dance concepts (applying emotion to movement, changing levels, changing speed).


Wednesday

1:30pm EST/ 11:30am PST-Drama Club
In this 55 minute acting class, students will play drama games to help improve performance and public speaking skills. We’ll then create our own short play.

2:30pm EST/ 12:30pm PST- Art Club

Campers can choose at the time of registration whether they want to focus on craft making or fashion. An art projects may include making items to decorate a room, making slime, or making jewelry.

Fashion club may include sewing, designing clothes, or making tote bags. This is  low screen usage activity. The teacher will be online available to answer any questions students may have while working on their art project; however, kids are encouraged to socialize as well.

3:30pm EST-Youth Hip Hop 

This interactive class allows kids to explore old school hip hop, new dance trends, and street jazz. Students will learn dance technique, dance studio etiquette, hip hop dance terminology, how to create their own freestyle, and how to follow choreography.


Friday (Ballet or Hip Hop)

12:30pm EST/ 1:30pm PST-Youth Hip Hop 

This interactive class allows kids to explore old school hip hop, new dance trends, and street jazz. Students will learn dance technique, dance studio etiquette, hip hop dance terminology, how to create their own freestyle, and how to follow choreography.

** On Fridays, campers may take either Ballet or Hip Hop Dance. 

1:30pm EST/ 11:30am PST- Yoga Games!

This isn’t your grandma’s sun salutation! In this 55 minute class, kids will play build their yoga knowledge and body awareness through yoga games. Starting with a fun fact greeting kids will transition into a series of games and end with a basic flow. Yoga Games offers a great way for high energy kids to find balance and focus.

2:30pm EST/ 12:30pm PST-Neighbor! Neighbor! a virtual field trip

Who are the people in your neighborhood? Travel the world as we meet local business owners to learn about what they do, travel to museums, and learn about other countries.

This program is only available to campers who are registered for 1 week or more of camp.

3:30pm EST/ 1:30pm PST- Ballet Basics

This 55 minute beginner ballet class is designed to build strength, flexibility, and ballet technique in a supportive environment. Foundational skills developed can improve body awareness and help in any style of dance. Suitable for beginners and dancers looking to maintain their practice.

** On Fridays, campers may take either Ballet or Hip Hop Dance. 


Ages 4-6


Two of your favorite classes bundled into 1 fun 55 minute lesson. Let’s Put on a Play allows kids to read a story and act it out.

2pm EST/ 11am PST/ Tuesday Move Day- Kid’s Hip Hop and Let’s Put on a Play

2pm EST/ 11am PST/ Thursday Adventures- Yoga Games and Let’s Put on a Play

Not sure your little one can handle 55 minutes independently? No worries. We’ll still be offering many of our fun 25 minute classes and more story time!

Tips for a successful On Line experience:

Getting Set Up:

    • Your confirmation email should include a link to Zoom. You can join the class using a web browser or the Zoom app. download the Zoom app.
    • Decide whether your using a smart phone, laptop, or computer. If you screencast to a t.v. be sure your microphone and camera are still nearby.
    • Be sure to share your microphone and camera so Rae can see you and hear you (not required for free reading time, but recommended for the interactive portion of the reading group).
    • For Private Lessons make sure Rae has the correct email/ phone number for you so she can learn more about your lesson goals. 

Suspect Illness?

If your child has signs of illness now, it is better to cancel at least 15 minutes before class.Just email or text Rae. You can always reschedule your artist is feeling better.
