The Crossroads of America: Visiting Indianapolis with Kids

by Ella S. Ross

Whether your family is a "get out and see the country" or a "stay in and appreciate some of humanity’s accomplishments" kind of family, there’s something for you in Indianapolis.

If you want to get out and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Midwest, you can walk around the Soldiers & Sailors Monument or take a stroll through White River State Park (in the heart of the city!) If you want to stay inside and see the art and history of America’s Crossroads, you can check out the Hoosier Art Salon at the Indiana State Museum or go all the way back to the Mesozoic in Dinosphere at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. If you want to do both and end up asleep by 6:00 pm, never wanting to wear shoes again (which may or may not have been my experience), you can do that, too.

I promise that whatever kind of trip you’re looking for, you’ll be able to make it happen in Indy. And if not... well, you can just blame it on me.
