Portside on the Pier: Summer Arts Camp

In addition to Portside's ongoing Summer Arts Camp at our Lehigh Ave location, we are excited to present our first year of summer camp at Cherry Street Pier! This four (4) hour long daily mini-camp is tailored for children ages 7-12, and focuses on various elements of visual arts. Children will explore different mediums and art forms including sculpture, painting, puppetry, fiber arts and so much more! With a fifteen child capacity, this art camp will allow for children to create bonds and friendships with other students as well as receive individual attention from our instructors. Weather permitting, we will bring the children every day to Race Street Pier, directly next-door to Cherry Street Pier, for a picnic to eat their lunch.
Cherry Street Pier is a year-round, mixed-use public space on the central Delaware River waterfront. Built into the shell of a century-old municipal pier, it is a reflection of Philadelphia today—creative, diverse, historic, adaptable, and inspired.
Children will be creating artwork in close proximity to professional Artists in Residence at Cherry Street Pier, some of whom will join us as guest artists. The children's artwork will even be featured in an exhibition at Cherry Street Pier at the end of camp!
