The teens that sign up for our Fringe Festival camp with Shadow Company will be working every day towards an original production for the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. The day starts at 8:45 sharp with a student-led warm-up. Most of the day is spent in rehearsals and refinement of story as campers work with professional artists to create a show worthy of the Fringe Festival. We take a break half-way through for lunch and trips across the street to the corner store for snacks. Our day ends around 3:30pm. We meet the rest of the summer on Friday evenings to further rehearse. Our Fringe Festival show runs the weekends in September. (There is no additional charge for participating in the Fringe.)
Summer Sort of Thing
Teens (in 9th - 12th grade) are also welcome to sign up for our other summer program: Summer Sort of Thing. Come perform in a full length musical! Campers will learn the basics of stagecraft, design, rehearsal, and refinement as they build a show designed to be seen by a community audience. Each day will consist of rehearsals with the director, music director and choreographer as well as design classes. Campers will experience a multi-run performance, with shows on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (the final weekend of the program).
