Summer Arts Studio (July 6th - July 31st) $325/week
Ages 4-13
M - F 8:00 - 5:30pm
Summer Arts Studio is a specialty camp for budding young artists. Each week, students will focus on a different art form and create their own body of work.

Summer Arts Camp (August 3rd - August 28th) $225/week

Give your child a fun and creative summer at Portside! Students will be exposed to a wide range of art and artists while creating masterpieces of their own. Students will sculpt, build, paint, draw, and collage their way through the summer during our daily art projects.

Will the Portside Arts Summer Camp happen this year?
We believe there is no better place than Portside’s Summer Arts Camp for kids to connect to their community, make new friends, try new things, and gain confidence. At this time, we expect to open as planned on July 6th, with adjustments to prioritize health and safety. We are following all CDC, local, state, and government guidance, and we will keep you informed of any and all changes to our current plans. We will continue to keep lines of communication open and transparent as summer approaches. One thing we know for sure: Kids will need camp more than ever.
What is Portside doing to prioritize health and safety for my child at camp?
We hope you and your family are well and safe. These extraordinary times have moved us all to a new normal, and we know camp will look different this year across America. Like you, we are continuing to closely monitor developments regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. As we approach the summer, we want to update you on some of the new safety protocols and procedures we will institute for camp to keep our kids & teams safe:
- Group Size: In accordance with health authority guidelines, this year we will have only two age groups: Minnows (age 4-6) and Sharks/Pirates (age 7-13), with a limit of 12 students per age group. Camp groups will remain together throughout camp and separated from each other. This number is subject to chance in accordance with the CDC.
- Staggered drop-offs / pick-ups: To allow us time for proper safety checks, families will participate in staggered, time-specific drop off and pick up times and practice social distancing while waiting to enter the building. Families with children in more than one age group, please contact staff to determine a consistent pick up/drop off time for your children – we don’t expect you to come twice. To accommodate this adjustment, we are unable to offer before care this year.
Minnows: 8:00 drop off

Sharks/Pirates: 8:30 drop off
5:30 pick up
If you are running late to drop off or you need to pick up early, you must call the office to arrange alternate drop off/pick up.
- Masks: All students and staff members will be required to wear masks except for when eating or drinking.
- No Shared Supplies: Students will receive their own set of art supplies for artmaking. Students will have a box to hold their belongings and supplies.
- Daily Screening: All campers will be temperature-checked and we will ask parents a set of questions about their recent health every morning at drop off.
- Swimming: Swimming will not be available this summer because the pools will not be open.
- Floor markings and signage: We will mark off safe distances throughout our building to help keep campers appropriately spaced. Reminders for handwashing, social distancing, and safe sneezing will be posted throughout the facility.
- Hygiene: Scheduled handwashing breaks will be built into each group’s schedule and more hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the building.
- Activities: Activities will be modified to limit physical contact. Equipment will be cleaned between uses and sufficient supplies will be provided for all campers to enjoy.
- Field Trips: Following guidance from the CDC, we will NOT offer off site field trips this summer but we will incorporate special programming and virtual field trips.
- Cleaning: Our whole team will be regularly cleaning to disinfect our facilities throughout the day & our facilities team will perform a deep-clean daily.
All campers and staff members are required to notify the Portside if they have come in contact with a person with COVID-19 or if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
One thing we’ve all learned this spring is to be flexible in the face of unexpected change. We are ready to adjust the protocols outlined above as CDC and government guidelines evolve. We will keep families updated when this happens and we appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation. Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and enriching camp experience is always our top priority, and we’re ready to rise to the challenge this year presents so that our children can have a great experience.
What will the Portside do in the event of a confirmed case of COVID-19?
In the event if a camper or staff member contracts COVID-19, the Portside will close for 2 weeks in accordance with the CDC. In this event you will receive a refund.
Cancellation Policy
Due to the current pandemic, the Portside has decided to adjust our summer camp refund policy.
- We are extending our cancellation deadline to June 26. Refunds or cancellations made after this date will be decided on a case by case basis.
- If we must cancel a camp session your child is registered for because of COVID-19 CDC guidelines, you will receive a full 100% refund.
- Also, if your child cannot come to camp because someone in your family has been exposed to COVID-19 and you are following the CDC guidelines for isolation, you will receive a full 100% refund. This refund can be routed to your bank account or you can apply it to family credit.
