The Schoener MusicMan Academy programs offer young musicians the opportunity to explore new instruments, compose, improvise, perform, play in ensembles, and record. Participants learn from professional musicians and collaborate with each other in peer-to-peer and mixed-age/skill groups. The Academy was launched in 2013 to bring to life Brad Schoener’s dream of “putting an instrument in the hands of every child who has a desire to learn.”

The Schoener MusicMan Academy brings high-quality and enriching music education programs to elementary and middle school children. This seven-week summer program for school-aged children consists of multiple camps online and in-person located throughout Upper Darby, PA. Our unique MusicMan approach remembers the 'camp' part of 'music camp!' Not only do we offer instruction on ukulele, guitar, and keyboard in addition to the camper's main instrument, but we add fun activities each year such as juggling, or frisbee throwing, or even learning how to play the harmonica!

The Academy has expanded summer programs in recent years to include Jazz Jam Camp and Stellar Strings Camp to take instrumental skills to the next level. A brand new offering this year, Sonic Sandbox is an online music creation camp for those who are ready to explore adding their own music soundtrack to the 3D world of Fortnight. Our Butterfly Buddy Camp offers creative arts therapies for children with disabilities guided by certified therapists and student volunteers "buddies."

Current pop-up class instrumental offerings include Ukulele Circle, Flute Choir, Jazz Jam Mini, Drum Line, Performance Team and Online AI Music Creation. Other programs include a Live Jazz series at local libraries.
